Player Maze Upload Documentation
Wouldn't it be nice if you could create and upload a maze of your very own for
others to attempt to solve? Yes? Well, here's your chance!
Once your SysOp has registered The Labyrinth Door (for the low low price of
$15), he will be able to make available to you a utility to convert a normal
Ascii maze into a Labyrinth Maze File (LMF). Once in the LMF format, you can
simply upload the file from within the door and it will automatically be added
to the index and appear in the maze list where EVERYONE will get a chance to
solve it.
If your SysOp has not registered the door yet, and this idea sounds
interesting to you, by all means urge him to register! Or, if you're *REALLY*
interested and want to get started creating mazes right away, you might even
want to sponsor the door by sending him the $15 required to register it, that
way it sure to get registered.
Creating mazes is very simple once you have Make Maze Utility. You simply use
the utility to print out a template, draw your maze, then "computerize" it
using any Ascii editor (like TheDraw). After that, just tell the Utility the
name of the ascii file and it automatically converts it to the LMF format.
That's all there is to it. The resulting LMF will even have you listed as the
author so everyone who tries it will know just who created the maze they're
having so much trouble getting out of <grin>. If you decide to register the
utility, (the registration fee will be decided by your SysOp but will not
exceed $20) you will then be able to "Play" your mazes at home just like you
would in the door to see just how difficult they are, or, to find any "easy"
paths that you might want to take out before you upload them!
So, if you're like me and absolutely love creating mazes, leave your SysOp a
note and let him know. That way he will have the incentive to get the Make
Maze utility and make it available to you. In the event that you absolutely
can't wait to get it, you can always download it from The Bumpkinland BBS
"Home of the Labyrinth Door" and register it with me. However, I would
recommend that you get it through you SysOp for two reasons. One, by
downloading it from you local board you can avoid the long distance charges
(don't ya just hate those?) and two, your SysOp will be able to make the
registration much less than the $20 it costs to register it through me.
Therefore, if you like the idea, urge your SysOp to get the program!
Thanx for Playing,
Jerry Aldrich II
